Last week, the NSW Government released their draft regulations for the Design and Building Practitioners Act 2020 and is seeking public comment.

Now is your opportunity to provide feedback on new laws requiring statutory registration for professional engineers, plus a range of reforms to the process of designing and constructing buildings.

How to get involved

Members are invited to provide feedback into Engineers Australia’s formal submission to the NSW Government in two ways:

  • Attend our live feedback session on Wednesday 2 December at 1pm-2:30pm. Sign up here.
  • Submit written feedback by 5pm, Tuesday 8 December to [email protected].

Before attending the Engineers Australia event or providing written feedback, members are strongly encouraged to read the NSW government’s consultation materials and attend their information session scheduled for Tuesday 1 December at 2pm, and details on how to join should be available on their website today.

Members can provide personal feedback to the government directly but should note Engineers Australia is providing a formal submission.

We also have compiled information on what's happened so far and a policy paper.
