Australia is facing a widespread engineering skills shortage. As the profession’s peak body, Engineers Australia works closely with government, academia and industry to monitor and improve the situation.
One way we do this is by partnering with businesses to attract, upskill and retain their talented engineering workforce.
Whether your organisation is a large corporate or a small business, we have a learning, assessment or credentialing solution that’s right for you.
With a dedicated client manager, simple online dashboards and streamlined processes you can manage all your organisation’s training and credentialing needs with minimal effort.
How we can help you
Engineering workforce credentialing
If your organisation’s goal is for engineering staff to become Chartered or to apply for NER or state registration, you’ll have a dedicated resource to work closely with you and your teams. We’ll help you:
- understand the capabilities in your engineering workforce
- scope your requirements and propose a partnership model
- create and activate EA memberships
- guide your employees through what they’ll need for their assessments
- conduct pre-assessments
- conduct interview assessments
- advise applicants of their assessment outcomes and formalise their credentials.
Our workforce credentialing program also enables you to gain a workforce-wide view of the skills and competencies in your talent pool. This invaluable information helps you to fill knowledge gaps and maintain a fully skilled workforce.

Corporate learning solutions
Our corporate learning solutions are delivered by our subsidiary, Engineering Education Australia. This registered training organisation provides multi-faceted training that can be delivered in person or online, as webinars, live virtual workshops or self-paced short courses.
Engineers Australia members have access to more than 800 free events each year as part of their membership. EEA’s course catalogue is comprehensive with all content created by engineers, for engineers so it’s always up-to-date and relevant.
We can customise training courses to meet your organisation’s specific needs. This means we work with you to understand what your teams need and then design targeted training to address the learning or development needs of your engineering staff. We also specialise in developing competency frameworks for your organisation.
Tailored training can be delivered online or face-to-face (depending on covid restrictions) – or a mixture of both, at a time and location that suits your business. Learn more about tailored training for engineers.
Investing in the professional development and personal empowerment of your engineering graduates is an important way to attract and retain them.
Our award-winning 18-month graduate program has been designed in partnership with engineering organisations to develop the foundational skills of new engineers at the start of their career. They’ll learn about what skills they’ll need to develop for a Chartered credential, plus important interpersonal skills to help them become well-rounded employees. How it works
Your organisation might benefit from one or more products and our experts can give you the right advice. To start, you’ll have a consultation with one of our team to determine your organisation’s needs and objectives.
Then, we’ll then put together a tailored proposal on how we can support your organisation and your employees. Your proposal will detail what’s included, a project plan and schedule plus the costs.
