Overview

Join us in identifying and overcoming imposter syndrome in the engineering industry

'Imposter syndrome' is a term that was first introduced by Dr. Pauline Clance and Dr. Suzanne Imes in 1978 during their research on high-achieving women in the workplace. Imposter syndrome refers to the feeling of inadequacy or being "not deserving" of accolades or opportunities.

Join us for a thought-provoking discussion as our panel shares their experiences with imposter syndrome in their careers and the steps they have taken to overcome it. We will also explore ways in which both men and women can support their colleagues who may be experiencing imposter syndrome at any stage of their career.

Learning outcomes

  • Learn how to identify imposter syndrome in yourself and others.
  • Understand how to address and overcome feelings associated with imposter syndrome.
  • Learn to support your colleagues in the workplace.
