He has been instrumental in driving technology thought-leadership in the country in areas such as the energy transition including green hydrogen, smart infrastructure, digitalization and Industry 4.0 - including his role in establishing the Prime Minister’s Industry 4.0 Taskforce. He has a strong focus on how accelerating digitalization is critically linked to achieving positive outcomes for business, society and climate change.

Jose Moreira brings over two decades of extensive experience in the energy sector to his role as General Manager at Siemens Grid Software Australia. With a background that spans from engineering to project management, Jose has held various key positions within Siemens, including Regional Manager and Project Manager, as well as Commissioning and Configuration Engineer. His deep market knowledge and expertise encompass the entire spectrum of energy automation, SCADA systems, and communication solutions for industries and utilities, covering Transmission, Distribution, and Generation.

Mehdi Seyedmahmoudian
Director, Siemens Swinburne Energy Transition Hub

Prof Mehdi Seyedmahmoudian is a Professor at the SoSCET at Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. His research interests include renewable Energy systems, Artificial Intelligence and application of emerging technologies, like VR-AR, in Complex Engineering problems. He strongly believes in industry engagement research initiatives and has stablished several research partnerships with external industries during his academic career. Mehdi has been chief/partner investigator of more than $15.7M funding application submission, including $6.4 successfully funded projects. He is among the top 2% researchers in the world based on his research performance within in EE and energy disciplines in 2020.
