Organised by Engineering Heritage Australia, AEHC 2024 has become the premier gathering for heritage engineering enthusiasts. The conference attracts engineers, architects, historians and professionals from various disciplines to navigate the intersection of tradition and innovation in the engineering realm. 

AEHC 2024 will focus on the overarching theme engineering to conserve heritage, where we’ll explore:

  • strengthening existing buildings for earthquakes 
  • digital capture technology.

The AEHC Gala Dinner will be an exciting evening of fine dining, discussion and networking with fellow engineers and industry professionals. 

It's a prime opportunity to forge new connections, exchange ideas and delve into the rich heritage of engineering accomplishments in the beautiful surrounds of the recently refurbished historic Marriott Hotel. 

Full conference registration includes one seat at the dinner. Additional seats can be purchased through our website when registrations open in July.

Awards

Nominate an individual or project that deserves to be recognised for their contribution to heritage engineering. 

Nominations for these awards will close at 3.00 pm AEST on Tuesday 2 July, with the winner of the Colin Crisp Award announced at AEHC 2024.

John Monash Medal

This award recognises outstanding contributions to engineering heritage over a significant period.

The John Monash Medal pays tribute to Sir John Monash, a distinguished civil engineer and respected Australian military commander during World War I.

Recipients of the John Monash Medal are presented with an inscribed medal and certificate at an Engineers Australia award event.

Nominate

Colin Crisp Award

This award perpetuates the memory of Colin Crisp, who was a structural engineer well-known for his work in the conservation of heritage structures.

This project award is given for excellence in the conservation and recording of items of heritage significance, in recording engineering accomplishments and the development of technology or in education and raising awareness of engineering heritage.
