Engineers Australia and Transport Australia society submission train lighting and visibility
Engineers Australia and the Transport Australia society have co-authored this submission with the aim to improve safety on road and railways for all Australians.
Urban Transport Systems Report (August 2023)
This paper has been developed by Engineers Australia’s Transport Australia Society (TAs) to provide expert advice to governments, policy makers and other stakeholders with a role in policy, planning, operating and delivery of Australia’s urban transport systems.
Fuel efficiency standard submission
The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communication and the Arts has conducted a consultation on the key elements of an Australian Fuel Efficiency Standard. This is an important initiative to cut costs and reduce the carbon pollution from Australia’s cars and light commercial vehicles. This consultation builds on the work done in developing the National Electric Vehicle Strategy to which Engineers Australia also made a submission.
Engineering a resilient and sustainable rural, regional and remote road network
Engineers Australia's submission to the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Regional Development, Infrastructure and Transport, calls on knowledge from Engineers Australia's position on climate change to make recommendations that highlight the growing importance of the regional road network in a heating climate.
The future of transport discussion paper
With contributions from future of transport working group members this paper discusses pathways to a sustainable, decarbonised transport network including looking at transport though a systems view and enabling greater collaboration for project planning and funding.
Urban transport systems
The discussion paper is intended to give guidance to policy makers and other stakeholders in planning and delivering Australia’s Urban Transport Systems (UTS). The scope includes changes to the transport systems themselves and associated investment and decision-making processes.
Creating Better Connections for Queenslanders
Road safety
This discussion paper is intended to inform discussion to reduce the massive social and economic impact of road crashes.
Mobility as a service (MaaS)
This paper is intended to inform discussion on the potential role of MaaS in improving transport system efficiency and creating a seamless travel experience.
Autonomous vehicles
This discussion paper provides insights and recommendations for the planning and integration of Connected Vehicles (CV), Automated Vehicles (AV) and Connected Automated Vehicles (CAV) in our transport systems and services.
Transport engineering education
This discussion paper is intended to guide the benchmarking of transport engineering streams in Civil Engineering Bachelor degree programs in Australia.
Active transport
This document is intended to inform discussion on the benefits of active transport in managing travel demand and addressing environmental and health challenges.
Road pricing
This paper is intended to inform discussion on the potential role of road pricing in managing travel demand and addressing revenue challenges, recognising implementation and social equity considerations.
Western Sydney Rail Needs Scoping Study
Engineers Australia strongly believes that infrastructure is the essential enabler of productivity growth and it is essential to preserve and improve our standards of living. It should be fit for purpose and the flow of these services should stay ahead of population and economic growth.
Draft Transport Access Strategy
Engineers Australia believes transport planning should be closely integrated with land use planning otherwise governments will be constantly in remedial mode, and there should be better separation between transport within population nodes (or centres) and between population centres.
Engineers Australia response to the Review of Environmental Factors for Newcastle Light Rail
Engineers Australia has examined the REF for the Proposed Newcastle Light Rail (NLR) and has concluded that the Proposal does not satisfy the key transport and urban design objectives for which it has been planned (the NTUPP), that it fails to deliver an integrated transport system and that alternatives are available which can meet these objectives and this integration.
Inquiry into Transport Connectivity
We believe that the purpose of infrastructure is to establish the basis for higher quality, sustainable and productive lives for all Australian. To fulfil this challenge infrastructure it must become more sustainable.
